Haven’t we had a lovely April on the whole, just a few April showers to bring forth the May flowers. Let’s hope may proves to be the same.
During April we celebrated Easter, the resurrection of our saviour Jesus Christ on the first Sunday of the month. It was lovely to see Janice and Peter join us for the service. We also celebrated and welcomed to membership, by the offering of the right hand of fellowship to Mary Thompson and Anne Goble. What a wonderful way to start the Easter celebrations!
There are a couple more who have asked about church membership, and we thank the Lord for the increase.
We think of those of our fellowship who have been unwell, housebound or in residential care. Various members visit and keep in touch with them. We Jemima well on her trip to Ghana and look forward to her safe return.
March’s church meeting of members was very low in attendance, so any decisions had to wait until April. Where there was a good attendance last Sunday, thank you. This included our two new members.
There will a plant sale at Sally’s on the 30th of May, we agreed to hold a lunch on the 11th of May in aid of Christine Aid. Donations suggested for tis was £5.
We are also hoping to have a joint service with the Hosanna congregation, a date and time has still to be arranged.
Phil has now got a mobile phone for church business only; the number can be found on the web site. Eventually it will be on the notice board.
Last but by no means least, Caroline noted broken slates on the pavement in Worton Rd. Phil has taken photos of the damage to the hall roof where they are missing. We hope to get this repaired soon.
