Here we are in the third month of the year and hopefully Spring will begin. We are beginning to see signs in the church garden as warmth encourages growth.
The whole of March is also Lent this year, when we think of Jesus’ life and what he has done for us throughout our lives, and hopefully has given us faith that will lead to eternal life.
Easter is at the very beginning of April, the first weekend in fact, look out for the services approaching Easter, which will be on the back page and announced.
Our church meeting at the end of February was quorate just, so we were able to make good decisions for our church. Firstly, we agreed to Mary Thompson and Anne Goble becoming church members, we thank God for this, and hope others will join them. We look forward to officially welcoming them with a service at which the right hand of fellowship is offered.
We also spoke about the recent new preacher who came on the first Sunday in February. Again, it was agreed to welcome him to our list of visiting preachers.
It is hoped to do some gardening in the next few weeks, weather permitting. Sally also mentioned that she would be doing her plant sale again this year in aid of the church in June.
Another date for your diaries is the 14th of March here at church, a Taze workshop with the proceeds for the church, this will be from 1pm with a short service at the end. All are welcome.
So far, the plans for Easter services are as follows, Maundy Thursday a communion service at 7pm. Good Friday we will join the local churches in a combined service at St. John’s at 10.30am which will be outside if weather permits.
Saturday come and help decorate the church for our Easter service with communion at 11 am. All these will be announced nearer the time.
