Deacons’ Page – June 2026

Deacons' Page

Its June … how did that happen?? My brain is still somewhere around “just after Christmas”! But no…. we’re into the sixth month of the year and … shhhhh … the weather has been warm recently, the schools have just had half term and teenagers are busy doing their exams.

The garden/plant sale took place last Saturday and the weather even held for that. Very few people came but the faithful few who did had a good chat and put the world to rights and I hope their tomatoes, peppers and courgettes are now busily growing in their gardens! There are still some monies to come in so final total is not yet available.

At our last church meeting, it was agreed that Rayne Mulligan will become a church member. A date for her reception into membership at a church service will be arranged as soon as we can. This is good news! We received two long standing church friends into membership past month … and now another one… isn’t that brilliant?!

Our Christian Aid soup lunch raised £70 and a good time of fellowship was enjoyed by those who attended.

Nicole’s baptism will take place on 7th June and we will celebrate Val and Andy’s wedding anniversary with them at the end of the month. 50 years… Wow!! And they will renew their vows during the service.

We are still moving on with the sale of Antony’s house- we all know how long and drawn out this sort of thing is!

All the sunshine and rain are making everything in the garden grow_ if you can join us for another of our Saturday morning garden tidy up sessions then we would be very happy to see you there.

Keep cool, stay dry and take care …
