Deacons' Page

I hope you all remembered to put your clocks forward one hour on Sunday, which was also Mothering Sunday. Thank you to Sally and Elizabeth for the posies of flowers. Mothering Sunday is the halfway point in Lent and this year the last Sunday in March.

As we enter April let’s hope the sunny warm weather, we have enjoyed fleetingly in March becomes more constant.

On the 23rd of March we held our Church Meeting following morning service. Thankfully it was quorate, with seven members in attendance and three regular friends, who it would be lovely if they would consider becoming members.

All previous minutes were approved and signed, prior to making further decisions. It was agreed weather permitting to have a gardening session before Easter on the 9th of April from 10 -12. this is a Wednesday, we hope some people will be able to help to make the side garden tidy for Easter.

Our Easter services were agreed as follows; Maundy Thursday we will have our Communion service around the table at 7pm. On Good Friday we will join the local churches service, this year at All Saints at 10.30am. Saturday come and help decorate the church with flowers

Easter Sunday this year falls on the third Sunday, so we will only have the one service at Unfortunately, the treasurer had to inform us that we are spending more on necessary bills than we a receiving in the offering plate. This is a problem that each of us must pray about and look to how we can meet our running costs. Joining the Gift Aid scheme is one way if you are not already. From this we receive money once a year from HRMC and this gives us 25% of the total giving. So please consider this if you are a taxpayer.

Wishing you all a Blessed Easter on the 20th of April.
