I hope you all remembered to put your clocks back last night and enjoyed an extra hour in bed?
At the very end of September we celebrated the gift of God’s bounty with our harvest service, we gave tinned goods to the local food bank and a cheque to The Disaster Emergency Committee to help in various emergencies.
Through October we have enjoyed many sunny but cooler days, which have allowed us to meet up in relative safety outside. As the wetter and colder months come and the darker days, we need to continue to be vigilant about protecting ourselves and others by our actions.
In October we also celebrated Elizabeth’s achievement in graduating in Nottingham from her course in Practical Theology. We also take the opportunity to wish Sally’s daughter Izzy and husband Simon all the best in their married life together.
November is also a busy month with the Remembrance Sunday services. We thank Jemima again for representing our church at the Clock Tower service.
We also have our annual meeting where the officers of the church are elected; these are the deacons, treasurer and secretaries who help to keep the church functioning. For this to happen, you need to nominate a church member after asking them if they wish to stand.
There are also other roles within the church that require filling; there are rotas for flowers, coffee after morning service, opening the church in the morning and evening. On top of this we need to be praying for the continued work of our church.
Those of you who come regularly and consider this your church, have you considered making a deeper commitment and becoming a full church member and thereby involved with the running of the church here in Isleworth? If so, please ask any of the members or deacons about what is involved.
The Deacons.
